CSM VIS-UV

White-light confocal mode as option to Axiotron 2 microscopes.
Colour-height coding of sample topography by using white light illuminator.
Extendend depth of focus.

Features
  • CSM: Confocal Scan Microscope with rotating pinhole disk.
  • Based on a patent by Carl Zeiss.
  • Real-time imaging with landscape-like colour-height coding of sample topography by using white light illuminator. See comparison images here.
  • No laser scan principle, no computer required - the image can be instantly observed in the eyepieces.
  • Extension of focal depth by up to seven times, compared to common brightfield. No re-focussing required.
  • Best possible contrast ratio by using a pinhole size of 1 Airy unit for 100x/0.95 objective.
  • Using i-line UV: Narrow band illumination and dedicated i-line UV objectives by Carl Zeiss lead to maximum contrast by elimination of stray light from adjacent sample planes.
